Monastic life has been fertile ground for cinema over the ages, from comedy (Sister Act), murder mystery (The Name of the Rose), to drama (The Mission, Silence, Of Gods and Men). This retreat explores the many renditions of monastic life and its values and practices with a distinctive visual presence. On screen, the silence is deafening
The first session for all Weekend Retreats begins at 7:30pm on the Friday. Participants are encouraged to attend Vespers at 6:30pm, followed by dinner, if possible. The final session for each weekend will conclude at 11:30am on the Sunday.
Please be reminded that we can not guarantee the availability of rooms at the Monastery Guesthouse during this event but other accommodation options are also available.

This weekend will provide a concentrated introduction, which will equip participants with enough knowledge to continue their own studies with confidence.
