St Ild's
By October the Galactic Centre of the Milky Way is flat and setting towards the West early at night. It is nearly the end of the season for astrophotographers.
This image was taken off the road from behind the flour mill, and the wall up to St Ild’s cottage, St Ilds is peaking at us over the wall and the Galactic core is hugely painted in the clear night sky. The flour mill and the wall have been flashed with a hand held, manually operated flash, while remote triggering the camera. The light on St Ilds is the light that is always on St Ilds, which makes for a delicate balancing act with the exposures.
