To mark this historic occasion, it has been decided to hold the event on a Friday instead of the previously customary Saturday event. This is so that librarians and archivists, as well as our usual attendees, can attend a professional development day, especially now that the traditional professional development Library Day is held on alternate years following the merger of the archives and library departments.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt;\" class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; color: black; mso-bidi-font-style: italic;\"\u003eThe programme this year will include translator Judy McGuinness’ review of the second published volume of the Santos Salvado letters (although the first, chronologically), \u003ci\u003e\u003cspan style=\"background: white; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;\"\u003eSpain and Italy 1849-1868\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"background: white;\"\u003e,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"background: white;\"\u003e together \u003c\/span\u003ewith an update on the last phase of the Santos letters;\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\"\u003e Abbot John’s news on the restoration works at New Norcia, and an audio-visual presentation from Mexico-based Sarah Connor on her work on the joint New Norcia – Perth Catholic Archdiocese project, the Bishop Griver correspondence.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eThere will also be two musically-themed papers, one from New Norcia’s new Music Collections curator and former Abbot Placid scholar and soprano, Allegra Giagu, who will be talking about her research into Bishop Salvado’s music; the second paper will be from our current Abbot Placid scholar, Paul Watt, on Gregorian Chant.
